About Tlazohtepetl
Honour the mountain
Tlazohtepetl is translated from the nahuatl as: "Love of the mountain". Our walks are born from a prehispanic view of the territory where the mountain is a living and sacred being.
Following the wisdom of the original peoples we understand the walk as an act of respect and contemplation, to connect with nature and with ourselves.
We do not seek to conquer the mountain but to dialogue with it, to learn its cycles, and to raise awareness of our relationship with it.
We invite you to live with us the mountain experience as our ancestors did with humility of respect and spirit.
About me
I am José Luis, I started this path in the dance groups in the zócalo of Mexico City, I was in many dance calpulis where I had the opportunity to acquire knowledge about our prehispanic traditions.
Following this path I reached the temazcal another ancestral practice of healing and reflection.
Later on I met some teachers who started me on the most important mountain walks in Mexico: Toluca (Xicontecatl) frying, Malinche (Matlalcueyetl) and Tlaloc until you reach the high mountain, Iztacihuatl and Pico de Orizaba (Cylaltépetl)
This is how I acquired experience in the routes, techniques and previous preparations for mountain walking.
I now share my knowledge of high mountain and preparation walks, I also run a temazcal on the star hill.
All this with a spiritual and sacred thought to help people connect with themselves, with mother earth and the universe.
The Wisdom of the Way
The walks of Tlazohtepetl They're not just mountain tours, they're moving rituals. Each step is a way to listen to the Earth, honor its cycles and reconnect with yourself through conscious hiking.
Ancestral temazcal
The temazcal It is a sacred space of heat, steam and singing where the body, mind and spirit are cleaned and reborn. This is not about understanding, but about to live it as a deep experience of healing and connection with Mother Earth.
After the walk, nothing is the same
I have done many activities with José Luis for 10 years. With him I have found a spiritual meaning beyond the sporting achievement. I have managed to transfer these lessons to my daily life and I feel that I know myself more thanks to this activity.

I entered the mountain road approximately seven years ago, and Joselo was a great teacher, who shared not only every step with you, but also all the teachings he has gathered along his walk. Every sunrise and every top is an adventure you can't miss.

I have had the opportunity to make walks, high mountain and treacherous with Jose Luis and I highly recommend him, he is a spiritual person, kind and prepared, he offers you all the tools for each experience to become unique, I have learned many things being with him, because his intention is not to profit but to help others to connect themselves and with mother nature.
